Robert F. Brunhouse, PhD Robert F. Brunhouse, PhD, a retired research immunologist, passed away June 5, 2013 after a long illness. Dr. Brunhouse, a proud fourth generation Californian with ties to early San Francisco and to pioneers who traveled to the West via the Oregon Trail, was born May 15, 1949 in San Jose, CA to the late C. Edward Brunhouse, DDS and Margaret A. Brunhouse (nee Simmons), formerly of San Jose and currently a resident of Redding, CT. Educated in his youth in San Jose, CA, Dr. Brunhouse was a member of the Willow Glen High School Class of 1967. In high school, he loved both his academic studies and athletics.
