Robert F. Nickles, 73, of 1917 Short Street, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Bob and his wife, the former Shirley L. Lowmiller, would have celebrated their 54th anniversary on July 21.
Bob had worked at Stroehmann’s, was a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoyed working around the house with his grandchildren.
Born March 28, 1938, in Nisbet, he was the son of Edward Max and Beatrice Evelyn Doebler Nickles.
Surviving besides his wife are sons, Robert E. (Kathie) Nickles of Nisbet and Mark W. (Denise) Nickles Sr. of Williamsport; a daughter, Robin A. (Robert Sr.) Vollmer of Williamsport; a brother, Richard (Sandy) Nickles of Ceyes, Cal.; a sister, Josephine Kaier of Rochester, NY; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Bob was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Nickles; brothers, Edward “Buck” and Kenneth Nickles and a granddaughter, Keysha Nickles.
