Robert “Bob” Fred Gilbert, 88 of Duxbury, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He leaves his wife of many years, Barbara A (Lantz) Tassinari Gilbert. He was previously married to the late Joan (Morlock) Regan. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Gilbert) Haarala of Plymouth, and was predeceased by his son Ronald Gilbert (Regina) of Englewood, FL. His grandchildren include Kerri Marie Ferola, Michelle Cohen (Matthew), Robert Gilbert, Douglas Haarala, Gregory Haarala (Erin) and Daniel Haarala. He also leaves behind Raymond Tassinari (Theresa), Michael Tassinari (Sharon), Jeffrey Tassinari (Tracy), and Deborah Tassinari as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His two brothers were the late Charles Gilbert and the late William GilbertRobert was born on June 4, 1933 in Plymouth to Frank and Rose (Gilli) Gilbert. He served in the Army at the end of the Korean War. After returning home, Bob and his oldest brother Charlie took over their father’s building contractor business, FJ Gilbert & Sons from 1954-1984. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. He was easy going and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hanging out at Charlie’s cottage on Long Beach in earlier years. He enjoyed clamming, camping, and watching the Red Sox and the Pats.
