Robert F. Fisher, 52, of Beaver Hill Road, Knox, Salem Twp., Clarion County, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Clarion Hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Fisher was born in Oil City on September 26, 1956. He was the son of the late John M. and Erma Meyer Fisher.
Bob was a 1974 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox. He had been employed at A.K. Steel in Butler. He was a long time member of the Civil Air Patrol serving as a Lieutenant with Squadron 504 in Clarion. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Bob cared very much about his children’s lives and was always there with fatherly advice and encouragement. He enjoyed helping people. He attended Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom.
He was married on April 28, 1979 in Turkey City to the former Cindy Kahle, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter Jamie Best and her husband Robert of Parker, two sons, John C. Fisher and his fiancAC. Alyson Faoro of Wallkill, New York, and R. Frank Fisher of Knox, and a granddaughter, Jasmine. Bob was looking forward to the birth of his second granddaughter, Lillian Grace. Also surviving is a brother, John E. Fisher of Erie, two sisters, Diana Habucky and her fiancAC., Mike Sherman of Parker and Margaret Graham and her husband Mike of Rimersburg. A number of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
