Robert Edwin Fickel Jr., age 63, of Salem, died at 6:10 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born October 31, 1953 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of the Robert Edwin and Thelma Rose (Starkey) Fickel.
He worked at GDS Express Trucking and was a truck driver all his life. Robert was a 1973 graduate of United Local High School. He enjoyed fishing, taking rides around the lake, working on his motorcycle and spending time with his grandkids.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha (Jackson) Fickel, whom he married in 1973; 2 sons, Robert Fickel III of Salem and Dustin Fickel of Alliance; 4 daughters, Heather Pittman of Homeworth, Jody Ondrejko of Delaware, Kristin Huzyak of Ellsworth and Jessie Fickel of Hanoverton; two sisters, Diana Ludwig of South Carolina and Deborah Ice of East Liverpool; and 13 grandchildren.
