Robert Edward Caldwell, 86, of Westbrook, beloved husband of the late Marcia L. (Jones) Caldwell, whom he married on December 19, 1943, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010. Born in Greenwich on October 15, 1923, he was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Pittaro) Caldwell.
Robert is survived by his daughter , Deborah C. Schmidt of Conyers, Georgia; three grandchildren, Robert C. Schmidt, of Middletown, Erik J. Schmidt of Rockfall and Nicole J. Speaker of Conyers, Georgia and three great-grandchildren; Alicia, Kyle and Marcia. Robert was a radio operator in the US Army during World War II and worked as an inspector for Pitney Bowes for 12 years.
