Robert E. Owens, Jr. 59, Anderson, died October 2, 2009 at I.U. Cancer Center after an extended illness. He was born June 9, 1950 in Anderson, IN, resided in Anderson, IN and was a graduate of Madison Heights High School. He was a resident of Anderson all his life and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors as a Millwright.
He was a member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, camping and especially being with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 42 years; Thelma Williams Owens. Children; Sharon husband, Erick Schmitz and Jeffery Owens. Siblings; Tina husband, Mike Gaul, Diana husband, Dennie Wolf, Howard Owens and Virginia husband, Keith Kinser. Grandchildren; Cameron Schmitz, Kristen Schmitz, Cassie Schmitz, Kala Owens and Brooke Owens. Several nieces, nephews, special friend Steve Murdock and special aunt and uncle, Janice & Jerry Trietsch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Patricia Caldwell and Robert E. Owens, Sr. and granddaughter Danielle Kay Schmitz.
