Robert E. Diefenderfer, 87, of Quakertown, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Independence Court. He was the husband of the late Myrta A. (Miller) Diefenderfer, who passed away in 2012. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Warren Erwin and Helen Minnie (Schanerberger) Diefenderfer. Following graduation from Allen High School in Allentown, Robert served his country in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class during World War II. He worked for Western Electric as a layout operator for 40 years until retiring in 1987. Robert was a member of the Allentown Firemans Association and the Calvary Baptist Church in Bethlehem Township. Robert enjoyed wood working, painting homes, fishing and was an avid Phillies, Eagles and Iron Pigs fan. Survivors: Daughter, Joan D. Kuczynski and her husband Richard of Bethlehem Twp.; sons, Scott R. Diefenderfer and his wife Deanna of Quakertown and Glen A. Diefenderfer of St. Petersburg, FL; 6 grandchildren, Michele Ruppert and her husband Warren, Jr., Matthew Stein, Tanja Black and her husband Bryan, Sabrina French and her husband Paul, Jr., Gabrielle and Tori Diefenderfer; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine VanLuvanee of Bethlehem; and nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by a sister Gloria Cantrell and a brother-in-law Harold VanLuvanee.
