NILES, Mich. — Robert Eugene “Bob” Funkhouser Sr., 89, of Niles, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, at Chalet of Niles.
He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Mishawaka, the son of the late Earl and Donna (Moore) Funkhouser.
Survivors include four sons, Robert E. “Bob” (Michelle) Funkhouser Jr. of Niles, Daniel Funkhouser of Mishawaka, Paul Funkhouser of Goshen and Peter (Gina) Funkhouser of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Julia (Geronimo) Guerra of Shipshewanna; one brother, Phillip (Judy) Funkhouser of Osceola; one sister, Lois (Jerry) Lewis of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, JoAnn Whiteman, Willa Dean Olson and Martha Dittman and three brothers, James, Roy and Thomas Funkhouser.
Bob was employed at Conn-Selmer for more than 20 years prior to his retirement.
