Robert “Bob” De Martino

Bob, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother left us on February 5, 2022.

Although he spent a good deal of time in Boca Raton in the latter years of his life, Bob was a life-long New Yorker — born on November 1, 1937 and raised in Brooklyn together with his four siblings. He was the son of Charles and Louise, who both moved to the United States from Italy as children. Bob graduated from New Utrecht High School in 1955, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. He served in the Army Reserves and embarked on a successful career as a commodity broker on the New York Stock Exchange. He eventually served as a Board Member for Coffee & Sugar Exchange, Inc.

Bob enjoyed travelling and although his business took him all over the world, his most prized trips were family vacations; trips to horse shows where he supported the equestrian pursuits of his three eldest children, Robert, Roxane, and Nicole; and trips up and down the East Coast to watch his youngest son, Charles, play baseball.

In his retirement, Bob turned to the sport of his youth, baseball. He devoted himself to the establishment and operation of the largest not-for-profit youth baseball organization in New York’s Hudson Valley. For nearly 25 years the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association provided tens of thousands of boys and girls the opportunity to play competitive baseball and softball. His selflessness in this endeavor touched many families.

Bob leaves behind the most loving and appreciative of families — Wife, Elizabeth; Children, Robert and his wife, Cate; Roxane; Nicole and her husband, John; and Charles and his wife, Virna; Sister, Vita Rose; and Grandchildren, Gage, Chase, Cooper, Jack, Ali, Robby, Catie, Emi, Alexa, and Christopher.
