Robert Daniel Merrell (Bob), age 60 of Newnan, born in Anniston, AL. on October 1, 1947, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 18, 2007. He was a a descendent of the J. Merrell Family of Carrollton, Georgia He is preceded in death by his father, Horace M. Merrell. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Ethlyn Merrell (Sam), daughter Anna Elizabeth Merrell, son Jonathan Daniel Merrell, mother & step father Ruth B. Merrell Ferrari & Walter Ferrari, brothers Joseph M. Merrell (Chris) of Fayetteville, Ga. Michael P. Merrell of Birmingham, Al.
Also surviving him; four nephews, two nieces and three great nephews. His favorite past time was deer hunting & fishing with his son & brother. He had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Sonrise Baptist Church. He attended Clayton State College, served on the ship Newport News in Vietnam for 2 years. Retired from Delta Airlines in October of 2000 after 30 years of service.
