Robert D. Forker, 84, died Thursday morning, December 6, 2012 at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana. Bob was born June 7, 1928 in LaGrange County, Indiana to Robert A. and Mary E. (Mosser) Forker. He married Rowena Clearwater on October 6, 1947 in Angola, Indiana. Bob was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Oselka Construction company for 17 years and for Woodruff and Sons for 11 years.

He was happiest when he was busy, and with that attitude, along with the skills he acquired, he purchased property and developed it into Bob-A-Ron Campground which he and his wife managed from 1965 until 2000. In 1980 Bob began his own construction business, Bob-A-Ron Construction until 2000 during which time he developed Lakewood Estates manufactured home park on Warren Woods Road. With energy that never ceased, Bob served his community in a number of ways.

He served on the Berrien County Road Commission since 1982 and in 1994 became Chairman. He was a member of the Three Oaks F and A M, Lodge # 239 since 1975 reaching the Rank of 32nd Degree and was a member of the Berrien County Shrine Club. Bob was also a member of the Moose Lodge # 980 of Michigan City since 1973 and was President of the River Valley Antique Power Association since 1998. He and his wife donated land to the group in 1985.

Bob was not just a member of these organizations, he was actively involved in their many projects and fund raising efforts. Survivors include his wife, Ronnie; children, Connie Joe (Currin) Forker and Duane Forker of Three Oaks; Anneita Grosso of Wakefield, Michigan and Daryl (Cheryl) Forker of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann DeMorrow of Statesville, North Carolina; and his brother Harold J. (Susie) Forker of Bloomingdale, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Lou Stacey and brothers Max, Jack, Ralph and Jerry.
