Robert D. Fell, 70, of Galesburg, died at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Bob was born on March 26, 1942 in Bradford, the son of George B. and Sarah (Ault) Fell, Jr. He married Virginia L. Eck in Galesburg on January 21, 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Galesburg; his mother, Sarah of Alpha; two sons, Brien (and Missy) and Brad (and Cheryl) both of Galesburg; two brothers, David (and Brenda) of Galesburg and Jim of Phoenix; and a sister, Sally Allen of Champaign. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jake, Jared, Madison, and Brooke; a sisters-in-law, Beverly Cossart and Linda Eck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Bob served in the US Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969. He first worked at Gates Rubber Co. for 8 years. He then worked for UPS for 31 years as a truck driver and feeder, retiring in 2000. Bob was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

He loved to ride and race motorcycles, a trait he passed on to his sons and grandsons. Bob was the oldest living member of the Galesburg Motorcycle Club, having joined in 1966. Over Bob’s many years at the Motorcycle Club he had served as president, was on the executive board, and was a race announcer for many years. Bob was an excellent mechanic working on not only his motorcycles, but his son’s and grandson’s motorcycles. He enjoyed his annual trips to Florida bike week and Sturgis, and had travelled all over the US from California to Niagra Falls on his motorcycle.  Aside from spending time enjoying motorcycles, Bob loved to be with his granddaughters. Bob’s smile and vivid personality will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
