Robert Christian “Bud” Willms, 83, was born on February 28, 1926, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of John Henry and Ella Katrina (Markxen) Willms and died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa.
Bud was raised in Atlantic, Iowa, and graduated from Atlantic High School. Following graduation, Bud entered the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, Bud moved to Spencer, Iowa, where he met and married Barbara Marie Selzer. Together they had two children, a son, Robert Steven “Steve” Willms and a daughter, Sherry Sue Willms.
The family lived in various places, where ever Bud’s job as a sales representative took them. Bud returned to Atlantic, Iowa, to live throughout his retirement.
Bud is survived by his children, Steve Willms of Shenandoah, Iowa; his daughter, Sherry Willms, of the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area; and his longtime friend, Donna Woodward of Lewis, Iowa.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Willms.
