Robert C. Howard, 61, Anderson, died July 19, 2002 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana after an extended illness. He was born June 1, 1941 in Anderson, and resided in Anderson. He was a lifetime resident of the area. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in October of 1999 as a tool & die maker after 37 years of service. He was brought up in the Lutheran Church.
He was a member and past board member of the Fifth Chapter Club in Anderson and also a member of the Daleville Gun Club since 1964. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, gun collecting and gun smithing. He was very kind and generous with his 12 step work.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married in Surfside Beach, South Carolina on May 9, 2002, Chris Mills Howard; a son, Robert C. Howard Jr. of Orestes; a step-son, Heath Hensley of Anderson; three brothers, Earl & wife Carolyn Howard of Mechanicsburg, Donald & wife Janet Howard of Chesterfield and Richard & wife Cecilia Howard of Muncie; a sister-in-law, Nell Howard of Muncie; two grandchildren, Brian Howard and Heather Howard; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Eulalia Lakey Howard and one brother William Howard.
