Robert Heiss, 71, of Ottawa, died on Saturday, September 1, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Bob was born on December 20, 1946, in Ottawa to Henry J. and Shirlee (Simonson) Heiss. He owned and operated Heiss Welding in Ottawa. He married Diana Smick. He had been a member of St. Mary’s Church in Naplate, and now a member of St. Columba Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diana, one son, Michael C. Heiss, of Ottawa one brother, Richard (Sherry) Heiss, of Ottawa, two sisters, Patricia (Denis) Mucha, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Nancee (Bernard) Stark, of LaGrange, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Timothy.
