Robert C. Carter, 87, of Fortville, passed away August 8, 2013 at Kindred Healthcare in Greenfield surrounded by his family. He was born September 10, 1925 in Fortville to the late Ward and Mary (Whelchel) Carter. Bob graduated from the former Fortville High School and retired from the former Brookside Corporation in 1985. He was a member of the Fortville Christian Church, the American Theater Organ Society and the Fortville F & AM Lodge No. 207.
He is survived by son Ron (Richarda) Carter of Hilham, TN, daughter Mitzi Carter-Neff of Greenfield, grandchildren: Randy Carter, Tammy (Brad) Goff, Shane (Mandy) Neff , Angie (Chris) Steeno and John Ayers, great-grandchildren: Christine Alley, Mitchell Carter, Wyatt Carter, Austin Goff, Hayleigh Goff, Luke Neff, Audrey Neff, Ryan Carter-Steeno, Max Hollon Steeno and great-great grandson Noah Samples; sister Jean Clark of Pendleton.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Jacobs) Carter in September 2010.
