Robert Bruce Barrow, 84, of Middletown, husband of Barbara (Smith) Barrow died March 27th at his home. Born January 11, 1926 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Harry V. and Lillian (Jameson) Barrow. Robert was raised in Rochester, NY, was a graduate of West High School Class of 1943, graduate of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy Class of 1951, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Robert was employed by Bausch and Lomb Optical, Consolidated Vacuum, and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He was conference chairman and editor of the 1968 vacuum metallurgy conference. He published several technical articles and was awarded six U.S. Patents in regards to single crystal castings for use in jet engine blades and vanes. He was active as an adult leader in Boy Scouts for 10 years in Cheshire Troop 198.
