Robert Charles Bonjione, known to many as “Bob”, passed away on December 1, 2017 at the age of 60. He was a one-of-a-kind father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Bob was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 21, 1956 to Virginia Quarenbush and Anthony Bonjione. He moved to Deming, New Mexico in 1988 and made the town his permanent home ever since. Bob was a simple man who marched to the beat of his own drum. He will be remembered by many for his sharp sense of humor, generosity to family and friends, and his loving, carefree and kind attitude.
Bob’s love for cars and motorcycles led him to a lifelong career as a talented auto mechanic; it was almost impossible to bring something to Bob that could not be fixed with a little elbow grease and humor. He enjoyed motorcycle racing, karaoke, and bringing joy and laughter to anyone and everyone he interacted with, no matter what the circumstance.
Bob is survived by his daughter Amy Bonjione of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Deanna Bonjione Liu and her husband Tony Liu of Allen, TX; brother Anthony Bonjione and his wife Debbie of Long Valley, NJ; sister Beverly Basile of Manakawkin, NJ; and sister Diane Whorton of Junction City, KS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends who are his extended family, and three fur babies, Penny Lane, Cinnamon, and Shadow Man. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother’s Dominic, Harold, Pat, and sister’s June and Joan.
