Robert “Bob” Younker, 71, of St. Charles, Missouri passed away Friday July 21, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born December 7, 1945 in Centralia, Illinois and was the son of James and Virginia (Myers) Younker. He married Rebecca Bryar DeCraene on June 26, 1971 in Centralia, Illinois.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Bob is survived by two sons: Kevin Michael DeCraene and wife Karie Matthew DeCraene of St. Charles, Missouri and Robert Stephen Younker and wife Lori Hummel Younker of Genoa, Illinois; one daughter: Wynn Younker Dunn of Wentzville, Missouri; three grandchildren: Rachel Younker, Benjamin Younker, and Taylor Dunn; aunts Vivian Vogel and husband Ralph “Bud” Vogel and Rosemary Myers of Centralia, Illinois; and brothers: James Sylvester Younker Jr. and wife JoAnn of Greenville, Illinois and John Wilson Younker and wife Ruth Alice of Mt. Zion, Illinois. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Bob was a chemist and worked in the computer and photography industries. He was of the Methodist faith. Bob was a Cardinals fan and enjoyed showing their English Setters at dog shows with his wife Becky. In his younger years, he enjoyed skiing on the lake and teaching it to many of his friends and family. He also enjoyed attending soccer and other sporting events in which his children and grandchildren played.
