Robert “Bob” W. Ammerman, 92, of Anderson, passed away on May 21, 2018, at the Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born on January 13, 1926, in Arcadia, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Bob graduated from Arcadia High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a barber for many years, and then retired from Guide Lamp. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, 40/8, and F.O.E. Bob also attended Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Anderson.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Marsha E. Long of Anderson, Rex E. (Karen) Ammerman of Alexandria, LA, and David K. Ammerman of Yorktown; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Ammerman; father, Vernon L. Ammerman; mother, Edith Alexander; brother, Jerry Ammerman; sister, Freida Hyatt; and three half-siblings.
