Robert “Bob” Strefling, 82, of Galien, Michigan, died Monday morning, November 12, 2007 at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman, Michigan surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Strefling was born August 13, 1925 in Weesaw Township, Michigan to Adolph and Julia (Kluge) Strefling. He attended Elm Valley School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

On September 29, 1951 he married Florence Claudia Prenkert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer, Michigan. Mrs. Strefling preceded him in death on November 13, 1993. Mr. Strefling was employed by the Baroda Feed Mill, the Clark Equipment Company, and spent most of his life working on his family’s Dairy Farm. He was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer and a member of the American Legion Post 518, New Troy.

Mr. Strefling enjoyed his life on the farm and also time spent with his family and fishing.Survivors include his children, Roberta Warnke, Buchanan, Michigan; Julie (Steve) Turley, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Nancy (Don) DeFreez, Galien, Michigan; Sandra (Ron) Dina, Buchanan; Randy (Debbie) Strefling, Three Oaks, Michigan and Laura (Eugene) Oldham, Concord, North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Geik, Kalamazoo, Michigan and Adeline Geik of Bridgman, Michigan; brother, Alfred Strefling of Stevensville, Michigan.; and his dear friend, Myrtle Hartwick.

Mr. Strefling was preceded in death by his son, James David.
