Robert “Bob” Snider II, 69, of Preston County Country Club, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Preston Memorial Hospital in the presence of family and friends.
Bob was born January 5, 1947, in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Robert Bruce and Nancy (Fuller) Snider.
He was very proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Russian translator using his linguist abilities. Bob was a graduate of West Virginia University. He retired in 2012 as the Quality Manager for Swanson Industries. He was a member of the NRA, Preston Country Club, American Legion Post 71 in Oakland, MD, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2391 in Kingwood. Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle “trike”, guns, music and playing his many guitars. He was a past member of the Subway Band. Following his wife’s recent retirement he was looking forward to traveling more, especially to the beach, which he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janice Roth Snider; nephew, Dillon Snider of GA; sister-in-law, Darla Snider of GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances “Fran” and Eugene Delawder of FL; niece , Kaylan Delawder of FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Edward Snider; sister, Deborah Cox; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wayne and Eleanor Roth.
