Robert “Bob” S. Hansen, age 87, of DeMotte, IN passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Wittenburg Village in Crown Point, IN. He was born on April 4, 1934 in Stanford, Connecticut to Raymond and Ella (nee Moran) Hansen. Bob graduated from Thornton High School, Class of 1952. He earned his Associates Degree from Thornton Junior College in South Holland. Bob married Rosemary Topa on October 4, 1958 in Hammond, IN. He worked as a salesman for 30 years with Hansen & Associates Advertising and prior within the food industry. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion. He was very involved in town groups and activities. He was the founding member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus in DeMotte. He also started the DeMotte Little League and DeMotte dartball league. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosemary Hansen of DeMotte, IN; children: Janell (Jim) Tillger of DeMotte, IN; Bradley (Lisa) Hansen of Loveland, CO; Eric (Michelle) Hansen of Auburn, IN; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ernest and Raymond Hansen.
