Robert “Bob” Miller, 75, of Lonoke, passed away at his home, July 30, 2013 with his family and friends by his side. Bob was born in Carlisle, Arkansas on January 6, 1938 to the late Bill and Nina Clayton Miller.
Bob was a third generation farmer, for 53 years he raised rice, soybeans and wheat in Lonoke County. He took great pride and worked endless hours to make sure his crops were well tended, so his family’s needs were always met. Bob served on the Riceland Food Board of Directors and Lonoke County Quorum Court. He was a member of the Carlisle Lions Club and Carlisle First Baptist Church.
Bob will be remembered for many things; especially for having a big heart for giving and helping others whatever their need might be and never failing to strike up a conversation with a stranger where ever he might go. But Bob will be most remembered for his love he shared for his grandkids. They were his greatest pride and joy. He enjoyed spending time taking them fishing and watching them participate in their activities, whether it was traveling to cheer competitions or cheering them on at basketball and football games.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Moreau Miller; daughter, Donna Davis and husband Donny; son, Bo Miller and wife Jessica; four grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Davis, Garland Miller, Sarah Davis, and William Miller, all of Lonoke; a brother Bill Miller and wife Carolyn of Cabot; and his furry companion, Sam.
The family wants to thank special friends, Greg and Amanda Lingo for their steadfast support and love they have shown to our loved one.
