Robert “Bob” L. Richards, 80 of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at his home. Mr. Richards was born February 27, 1934, in Orchardville, the son of George Richards and Flossie (Hutson) Richards. He married Betty (Wayman) Richards on February 18, 1955, in Marion County and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 59, he is also survived by a son, Rodney Richards and wife Andrea of Centralia; a daughter, Kathryn Bequette of Centralia; three grandchildren: Justin Ring, Stacie Ring, Jarod Bequette all of Centralia; 2 great-grandchildren, Drake Moss of Goreville and one on the way; a sister, Gladys Ramsey of Rock Falls; a sister-in-law, Shirley Richards of Salem; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by death by his parents, a brother: Leland Richards, two sisters: Vickie Hardy and Edith Richards, and a granddaughter: Ashley Wolf.
Mr. Richards worked for AC Mann for 30 plus years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Drag Racing. He also enjoyed fishing and going to Pawn Shops. Mr. Richards likes to buy John Deere Lawn Mowers to repair and sell. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his four-legged friend, Rylee Poo.
