Robert was born on June 3, 1918 in Seward, Nebraska to Edgar and Bess (Prosser) Campbell. He attended Seward High School. Bob was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Graham in Seward, Nebraska. Bob served his country during World War II. He was a 1st Sergeant in General Patton’s 3rd Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Bastogne. He was awarded several medals during the war including two Bronze Stars for heroism and acts of valor. After the war, he worked for Minnegasco for 34 years and retired in 1980 at the age of 62. Bob was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Seward Country Club. He taught many Seward residents how to play golf and had a closet full of golf trophies. He was a lifetime member of the Seward VFW Post 4755 and Seward American Legion Post 33, 54 year Master Mason of Oliver Lodge #38 AF&AM. Fomer member of the Seward Fire Department.
