Obituary of Robert Bernard Dorey Jr.
Robert Bernard Dorey Jr., age 62, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 with his wife, children, grandson and little sister by his side. Robert was born on February 1, 1959 in Saginaw to the late Robert and Darlene (Maxwell) Dorey. He married Kathleen Marie Ronan on September 6, 1980 at St. Joesph Catholic Church in Saginaw; she survives him.
Bob proudly served his country in the Army from 1976 – 1979 while stationed in Germany. He was employed by his love and passion for wood working until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Carrollton/Zilwaukee and had a variety of interests. Bob was very talented and enjoyed labor work and general remodeling. He often could be found outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing, canoeing and camping. His quick wit and sarcasm added fun and laughter to his outings, especially those nights spent sitting around a bonfire.
Bob leaves behind is loving wife of 40 years, Kathy; two children: Robert “Buck” Dorey III; Darlene “Sis” (William) Carter; two grandchildren: Jacob Jackson Manchester and Mya Victoria Carter; four siblings: Mark Dorey, Richard (Jodi) Dorey, Tracy Anderson and Tricia Dorey-Dupuis; eight in-law’s: Sharon (Tom) Sauvage, Butch (Irene) Ronan, Cindy (Ron) Dycus, Paul Ronan, Dave Ronan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Helen Dorey; a nephew, Greg Ronan; and his Mother and Father In-law, Pat and Crick Ronan.
