Robert B. “Bob” Southworth Jr., age 74, of West Haven, husband of Glenda Southworth passed away on Sunday August 14, 2011, at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven. He was the husband of the late Marye Walsh Southworth. Father of Patricia Clemens of Fort Myers, FL., Daniel Southworth of Norton MA., Margaret Castelli of North Haven, Thomas Southworth of Ansonia, Michael Southworth and Brian Southworth both of West Haven. Brother of Marilyn ‘Lynn” Wieczorek of Fern Park, FL. and William Southworth of England. Robert also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 4 stepchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. He was the son of Eunice Malone Southworth and the late Robert Southworth Sr. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Robert was a Retired Captain of the West Shore Fire Department in West Haven for 28 years and a member of IAFF local 1198 and Teamsters Local 443. In his retirement he was the Director of Transportation for Fairfield University.
