Robert Allen Mendel, 60, of Route 2, French Creek, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Lakewood, OH the son of Raymond A. Mendel and Rose Marie Crabtree Mendel. He is survived by his wife Patricia “Patty” Umbright Mendel. In addition to his wife he is survived by three children: Rachel Mendel of Clarksburg, Melissa Mendel of Pennsylvania and Vanessa Fouse and husband Dale of Clarksburg; seven Step-children; James “Jimmy” Jones, Jr. of Cleveland, Oh, Angelina Plumbley and husband Daryl of Cleveland, Oh, Ernie Jones and Violet of Clarksburg, Victoria Plumley and husband Jerry of Cleveland, OH, Roger Jones of Cleveland, Oh , Christopher Jones and wife Tabitha of Clarksburg and Michael Jones and fiancée Carissa Micola of Hibbs, PA; one sister-in-law; Carol Sue Nice and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Nellie Jones Mendell. He liked to fish, play pool, liked motorcyles and loved his children. He was self employed as a handyman. He will be missed by all who knew him.
