Robert Ables, 87, of S. Park Avenue, Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Ables was a retired auto mechanic. He was born in Glenville, on July 29, 1923, a son of the late Walter and Emma Nicholson Ables. He was married to Hazel Arbogast Ables, who preceded him in death. Surviving are five children, Robert Ables, Jr., Lost Creek, Virginia Lee Anderson, Flint, MI, Darlene Kay Dickey, Baltimore, MD, Darlene Kay Payne, Century, WV, and Samuel Ables, Grafton; several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Daisy Blair, Clarksburg. He was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Ray Ables; three brothers, Vincent Ables, Dayton Ables and Francis Ables; and two sisters, Virginia Boyers and Marie Holden. Mr. Ables was a Unites States Army Veteran having been stationed in Italy.
