BARKHAMSTED

LAROSE – Robert A. Larose, 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at his home in Barkhamsted, CT after having spent the prior day surrounded by family. He was a dedicated father, a loving Papi to his two beautiful granddaughters, and a devoted husband to Mary Ann (Nemeth) Larose for 41 years. Born June 26, 1958 in Northampton, MA; the eldest son of the late Rene and Lorraine (Desfosses) Larose.

Together with his father, they founded BioSafe Systems in Rob’s hometown of Glastonbury, CT and later headquartered in East Harford, CT. He was very proud of the “family-centric heritage and atmosphere” of BioSafe and was honored to be named one of the top companies in Connecticut. BioSafe is a true family run company. Rob’s entire family worked there from the beginning, and continues to today. Many other family members, close friends and family members of employees worked there. Rob’s favorite thing was his people, he loved working on people, and giving people chances and opportunities to grow. He was a father to all, he was the Captain of the ship. It was one of his greatest roles and he did it like no other. Rob loved to tell stories, and would sit people down in his office just to talk on a daily basis, always taking the time to check in and take a personal interest in everyone in the company. He would listen to their stories, and then he would tell lots of his own. His other love, his two granddaughters Emma and Ava, could be seen many times running through the office halls, coming into their Papi’s office to visit and hide in his desk and search for treats in his office. He loved his grand daughters immensely. They loved to play pirates, countless games of UNO on family vacations, and go for rides in Papi’s gator through the property that the girls loved to visit, his paradise. He was larger than life and there truly was no one like him.

Rob’s home was his castle and his escape from the rigors of everyday life. He enjoyed working on his property chopping wood, clearing trails in the woods, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He also enjoyed traveling and going on countless adventures with his best friend, his wife of 41 years. He loved to entertain friends and was a talented storyteller, with an infectious sense of humor, and is already deeply missed. Rob was determined to leave a positive legacy during his time on earth, and he did just that in the business he built, the people he mentored, the strangers who became friends that he met on his many travels and his close friends and family. He made an impact on all that will never be forgotten and will be remembered long after his passing.

In addition to his adored wife, he leaves behind his three children, Michael Larose of South Windsor, Lauren Crane and husband Justin of Simsbury and Matthew Larose of Manchester; cherished granddaughters, Emma and Ava Crane; siblings, Diane Maxson and husband David of Massachusetts, Ken Larose and wife Maria of Glastonbury and Stephen Larose of Hebron; mother-in-law, Theresa Nemeth of Harwinton; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, company family, and not to be forgotten his 3 faithful dogs, Arlis, Finn and Callie.
