Those left to honor Robert’s memory are his wife, Dorothy of rural Newton; son, James Kreager of Newton; his 2 daughters, Barbara (Jan) Berry of Baxter and Beth (Kalven) Simbro of Baxter; his 5 grandchildren, Brenda Aldrich (Rick Umbarger), Terry (Nikki) Berry, Erica Simbro (Greg Luna), Josie (Mike) Wright, and Andy Simbro; 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan Robert Mayfield and Ava Jean Wright; 2 brothers, Ross (Virginia) Kreager of Adel, Iowa and Harold (Mary) Kreager of Kennebec, South Dakota; sister, Lucille Shaw of Mesa, Arizona; his special cousin, Gordon Jackson of Newton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Floy (McElroy) Kreager; a brother, Morris Kreager; and a sister, Nadine Christiansen.
Robert was a gradate of Newton High School in 1938. He was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of the Jasper County Historical Society and Jasper County Farm Bureau.
