Rita May(Geminder)(Fein)Thompson, 64, of Surprise AZ and formerly of Galien, Michigan passed away at 10:30pm Saturday, February 1, 2014 after a long, hard battle with cancer, at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ.
Rita was born December 1, 1949 in Galien, MI to L.D. and Elsie Ann(Trapp) Geminder. Rita worked as a waitress most her life and was great at her job. Everyone wanted to sit in Rita’s section. Rita loved her sons, grandchildren and all of her family with real passion. She enjoyed get togethers with her friends and family and was the life of the party. Rita was a joy to know and to be around, always positive, cheerful, and outgoing Everyone that knew her loved her and where all blessed by her friendship.
She will be deeply missed.Rita is survived by her husband Gary Thompson of Surprise, AZ; sons, Ron Fein, Buchanan, MI and Dan Fein, Niles, MI; grandchildren, Shane DeMeulenaere, Ann Arbor MI and Kayla Fein, Elkhart, IN; sisters, Vivian (George) Koebel, St. Joseph, MI, Dolores Stackhouse, Stevensville, MI, Donna Redding Galien, Jerri Sue(Mike)Payne Galien, Barbra Becker Lake City, MI, sister-in-law Ann Geminder, Galien; 13 nephews, 8 nieces, and many great nieces and nephews.Rita was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Virgil Geminder of Elkhart and Paul Geminder of Galien, and brother-in-law Harold Redding of Galien.
