Rita Lorrie (Lucas) Jones, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 14, 2022.
Rita was born in Greenfield, IN on September 25, 1959 to Arnold and Arettia Louise (Niece) Lucas. She was a great cook, chicken n dumplings being one of her kids favorite meals she’d make. She enjoyed old tv shows and being surrounded by family. Rita was sweet, but may the Lord help you if you slighted her family, because no one else would. She was incredibly protective of them. She was all about her grandchildren and doted on them. She was a great aunts and sister, and no one could ask for a better mom. She taught her kids through her own actions how to be a hard worker and to love fiercely. She was very strong minded and always true to herself. She will be greatly missed.
Rita is survived by her children Joshua (Emiko) Sparks, Sarah (Jeremy) Blake, and James Jones; her grandchildren Alexis WIlkinson, Pierce Bray, James Jones II, Gavin Schmidt, Jamie Jones, Mira Sparks, and Reid Blake; her brothers Steve Lucas, Bill Lucas, and Greg Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rita is preceded in passing by her husband Walter “Mackey” Jones III; her grandson Aaron Jones; her father Arnold Lucas; her mother Arettia Louise Lucas; and her sister Teresa Kirby.
