Rita Balocchi-Tombaugh, 69, of Ottawa died on Tuesday morning, July 3, 2018 at her home. Rita was born on December 15, 1948 in Cairo, IL to Edward and Mildred (Moore) Walters. She was a graduate of Serena High School and IVCC Nursing Program. She was a registered nurse for 25 years working in the E.R. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator. She married Charles B. Tombaugh on January 25, 2007 in Ottawa. She loved travelling and working in her garden.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, a son Dino W. Balocchi, of Los Angeles, CA, a brother Jake (Dixie) Walters, of Paducah, KY, and 4 sisters LaWanda (Jim) Clutts, of Roxana, IL, Patricia (Terry Tonelli) Dougherty, of Sheridan, Eva (Pat) Markey, of Ottawa, and Bobbi (Jeff) Jackson, of Jackson, TN., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Moneta Aldridge, and a son Chad J. Balocchi.
