She died at 11:41 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, in Chase Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1922, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Frank and Catherine Boon Nowviskie. She was married June 7, 1944, to John G. “Jack” Grady, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1972.
A 1940 graduate of Logansport High School, Rita graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1944. She had been employed as head surgical nurse at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital. She also was head nurse at Chase Center when it opened. Rita had also been employed by Dr. D. K. Winter.
Survivors include her two sisters, Dorothy Alberts and Helen Weaver, both of Logansport; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding in death were two brothers, Roger Nowviskie and Eugene Nowviskie.
