Rillie C O Hancock, age 84 of Freeland died Friday, September 25, 2009 at his residence.

The son of the late William and Ida (Herren) Hancock was born on December 12, 1924 in Boma, TN moving to Midland as a youth. CO served with the Navy during WWII. On February 12, 1952 he married the former Barbara Jacobs in Angola, IN. C O worked for the Dow Chemical Co. as a truck driver, retiring in 1982 with 32 ½ years of service. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 3651 and will be remembered as an avid tinkerer and home handy man and loved to be with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

C O is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara and his children: Rillie Steven (Karla) Hancock of Midland, Roxine (David) Haskin of Midland, and Nora (Eddie) Stec of Midland, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jay ( Genny) Hancock and sisters Maynell (Gordon) Thurston, Janet Smith, sister-in-law Clara Hancock and brother-in-law Carl Miller. C O was predeceased by sons: Douglas, Donald, William and daughter Connie, brothers: William L., Cleo, V. Leo, sisters Nelda Miller, Vernell Gutchak and Dorothy Hancock.
