Riley “Junior” McClure, 57, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in the comfort of his own home following an extended illness. He was born on June 20, 1964 in Elkhart to the late Riley McClure (Sr.) and Shirley A. (Hoopingarner) McClure, who survives him at home.

Along with his mom, Junior is survived by a host of loving family, including his brother Jed M. McClure of Mishawaka, his sister Shelia F. Ball of Elkhart, and a bunch of nieces and nephews including Gavin, Hanna and Marissa McClure as well as Johnny, Tricia and Steven (Summer Burke) Peepers.

Junior was a loving and trusting disabled man who enjoyed living life to the fullest. Each day was a wonderous adventure for Junior, and he ambled around like he was “king of the world”! He worked many years at ADEC Enterprises in Bristol, but he also kept busy riding his three-wheeled bicycle around town looking for scrap aluminum or metal. He loved his bike, as it kept him connected with the rest of the world, and he would constantly wash it and keep it in good repair.

At home, Junior loved watching cartoons, especially the “Paw Patrol” and anything that included the “Minions”. He was a HUGE cookie fanatic, and would never turn one down, but secretly he loved chocolate chip the best! He also enjoyed staying refreshed with Sprite Zero and always making sure he got a second piece of cake.

As we alluded to before, Junior had a heart of gold, and he had a special place reserved for his mom and late dad, Riley. He was caring and genuine, and loved you for who you were, not what you were. And, interestingly enough, if he liked you, he’d start calling you his “lil’ rat”.

Friends and family wishing to make a monetary donation in Junior’s memory may do so by sending your contribution to an organization of your choice. Additionally, please be sure to thoroughly browse Junior’s obit page, as you are able to leave condolences and memories, post photographs on his memory wall, and order other funerary items in regard to the family, ya bunch of lil’ rats!!!
