Ricky Lavell Agers of Rock Hill, SC was born in Phoenix, AZ on November 5th, 1964 to Stan U. Agers II and Louvon Agers. He was raised in Ardmore, OK. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. He was a “Great” Dallas Cowboys fan; a Grill Master (that loved anything to do with barbecue); a Fisherman (who loved to go deep sea fishing); a World Traveler; and Sports Enthusiast (watch any kind of sport and spend time with his friends and family). Ricky was the greatest fun-loving person; he lived life to the fullest; never met a stranger; and he gave the best hugs.
Ricky attended and graduated from Ardmore High School, class of 1982. Ricky was active in basketball, baseball, and football. Soon after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, completing his basic training in Fort Dix, NJ. After basic training Ricky advanced to individual training for communications personnel. He was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC where he was a part of the 82nd Airborne Division Signal Corp. One of the military schools that brought him the most joy that he participated in was the Jump Master School in the 82nd Airborne Division. He then became a Sr. Jump Master. After Jump Master School he was placed in special operations. He served the military honorably for 15 years and received numerous accommodations. While stationed in Germany, he joined the Order of Prince Hall Free Masonry.
Upon completion of his military duties, Ricky worked at Hewlett-Packard Inc for 19 years and became a Regional Service Delivery Manager in the Charlotte, NC area. Ricky happily retired from HP, Inc. on January 22, 2021. He was a consummate IT professional, who was known for his hallmark Character and Leadership his traits include: “Family and Friends 1st, Individual and Team Responsibility, and Mission Completeness”.
A devoted Husband, Son, Brother, Soldier, Boss and Friend.
Ricky is survived by his devoted wife Angela of 18 years, his son, Ricky Agers Jr. (Karena); daughter, Kne’chelle Agers; daughter, Kimberly Tipton; son, Adrian (AJ) Agers; mother, Louvon Agers; mother-in-law, Frances Mosby; brothers Stanley Agers III (Co-Ann), Chris Agers (Vernira), Terry Agers (Margarita), sister, Makeda Agers, sister-in-law, Elissa Mosby; Special first cousin (brother) John R. Knight and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father Stan U. Agers II. His paternal grandparents Stanley and Johnny Pearl Agers; Maternal grandparents Larmon and Leola Jaggers.
