Rick Cofer, age 66 of Humboldt, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, September 17, 2021 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Ricky Keith Cofer Sr., the son of Roger and Nancy (Walcott) Cofer, was born on February 15, 1955 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Gilmore City High School on May 19m 1973. Rick continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg. On September 7, 1974, Rick was united in marriage to Eva Larson in Bradgate. He was employed by I.I. H. for 27 years and Hog Slates for 7 years until his retirement. Rick was a member of the Gilmore City Fire Department for 42 years, Gilmore City Ambulance for 8 years, Boy Scout leader for 12 years, Deacon NCCCC for 10 years and active in Rendezvous for 20 years. Left to cherish Rick’s memory are his wife of 47 years, Eva of Humboldt; sons, Roby Cofer and daughter, Alexis Bjornson-Cofer of Humboldt, Roger Cofer of Humboldt and Ricky Cofer Jr. and daughter, Hailey Cofer of Humboldt; sister, Tammy Jergens of Gilmore City; brothers, Rod (Deb) Cofer of Rutland and Jerry Jolliffe of Enumclaw, WA; brother-in-law, Fred (Dixie) Otto of Gilmore City and his dog, Goliath and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Cofer and Nancy Jolliffe; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Betty Larson and nephew, Mark Jergens.
