Richard L. ”Dick” Vincent 96, of Greenville and Cranston, RI, passed away at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center on Monday April 17, 2023. He was the husband of Miriam A. (Clarke) Vincent for 72 years.
Richard became involved as an Interscholastic, Collegiate, and Prep School swimming official in 1973, serving over 30 years. In 1991, he was inducted into the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame. He was a member and Honorary Life Deacon at the former Meshanticut Park Baptist Church in Cranston for 53 years. He joined the Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church, also in Cranston in 2008.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four sons: William and his wife Lori of Chepachet, Robert and his wife Carol of San Leandro, California and Cranston, John and his wife Jean of Greenville, and Garry, of Warwick, four grandchildren: Scott Vincent, Bethany Martins, Jennifer Vincent, and Leo Vincent as well as three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman G. Vincent.
He had a passion for beautiful art creations – Watercolor, Acrylics, Charcoal and others, A keen interest in sports, such as swimming, golf, the Red Sox and Patriots, scrap booking, family outings, and an occasional beer with family and friends at McShawn’s Pub in Cranston..
