Richard Uriah Evans, 77, of Jones, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his residence.
Richard was born July 22, 1936 in Vandalia, Michigan to Homer and Glendora (Vaughn) Evans.
He married Avis Gail Gunterman October 23, 1965 in Cassopolis, Michigan. She preceded him in death February 13, 1988. He was also preceded by his parents; three sisters, Marjorie Green, Leona Brown, and Betty Lou Lawson; and one brother, Hilbert “Todd” Evans. The Reverend Evans was an ordained minister for over fifty years. He owned Richard’s Body Shop in Jones. He had a great love for cars, especially Lincolns.
Family and friends will greatly miss the Reverend Evans. He is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Charles) Hunt of Cassopolis; five grandchildren, Candace (Chadd) Lee of Guam, Kristin Curtis of Buchanan, Charles Hunt, Jr., Fonzo Hunt and Tyler Hunt, all of Cassopolis; one great granddaughter, Aria Curtis; three brothers, Anthony (Sue) Evans and Yvonne (Marilyn) Evans, both of Vandalia, and Bertrand (Sheila) Evans of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
