Richard T. Gaffney, 92, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on February 7, 2021. Richard was born in Chicago, IL, but was a long-term resident of the Phoenix area having moved his family to the Valley in 1958. He was Civil and Structural Engineer and worked for Salt River Project for over 20 years. He is survived by 4 of his children, Tom Gaffney, Denise Gaffney, Pat Gaffney and Vicki Rall and 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by one son Jimmy Gaffney. Richard enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping. He was most happy when hiking in the Grand Canyon or fishing with Captain Ron in Tillamook, OR.
