Richard T. Yates, of O’Fallon, IL, born January 9, 1955, in Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL, after a brief illness. Rich was a long-time St. Louis Blues hockey and Cardinal baseball fan and was a regular-season ticket holder.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and made many trips with friends over the years. Richard had a passion for helping animals and would deliver to the Stray Rescue Center and the CARE STL Adoption Center. He owned and operated a sandwich shop in St. Louis for many years. Richard’s love for his three daughters was unconditional and he took pride in everything he did.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; William and Elizabeth Yates (nee Geist), and two sisters; Gloria Moelk and Helen Brown. Richard is survived by his three daughters; Brittany Yates of Fairview Heights, IL, Courtney Yates of Lebanon, IL, and Kelsey L. Yates of Greenville, IL, one brother; Tandy (Dolores) Yates, and several nieces and nephews.
