Richard R. Marotzke, Sr., of Bay City, Michigan, our loving and caring father and grandfather passed away early Monday morning September 19, 2016 at Medilodge of Frankenmuth. Age 90 years. The son of the late Carl A. and Emma (Schwalm) Marotzke was born December 22, 1925 in Unionville, Michigan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II, retired from Bay Metro Transit, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 119, and most of all he enjoyed the time he spent taking care of his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories are two daughters and one son-in-law; Connie Fisher of Bay City and Bonnie and Mark VanVoorhees of Frankenmuth, one son and daughter-in-law; Richard Jr. and Joann Marotzke of Saginaw Township, seven caring grandchildren; Stephanie, Rachelle, Dawn, Craig, Emma, Zechariah and Faith, five great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Sally Marotzke and her nieces and nephews. On January 25, 1947 he married the former Vivian W. Davis and she preceded him in death on September 15, 2012. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law; Wallace Marotzke, Joann M. Tune, Ronald Wm. Marotzke, Beatrice L. and Dan Miller.
