Richard Paul Smith, 84, of Bargersville, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, in Bargersville.
He was born on March 14, 1933, in Indianapolis, to his parents Paul and Lillian Smith.
He was a Navy Veteran and a supervisor for Indiana Bell, retiring in 1990.
Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, and going out to eat. When he was younger, he was an avid bowler. He had his own farm and loved his animals; he would take them to the elementary schools, so the kids could enjoy them as well.
Richard is survived by his son, Kent (Vickie) Smith of Bargersville; one grandchild, Zachary R. Smith; and one great-grandchild, Sierra Marie Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Smith; one son, James Smith; a brother, Henry Smith; and two sisters, Carolyn Vest and Jean Kidwell.
