Richard Marion Rickmann, 91, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh, IL.Richard was born July 15, 1929 in St. Louis, MO. He spent his career as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was formerly the president of the East St. Louis Jaycees, former president of the Fairview Heights & Belleville Exchange Club, former bingo caller at Friday night bingo at CKL of I for the Exchange Club, union carpenter, avid golfer, and voted ‘Most Likely to Succeed in Sports’ in his class at East Side High in East St. Louis. He was a three-sport letterman.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Marion Rickmann, Sr. and Christine Rickmann (nee Johnston), his beloved wife of 55 years, Marcella Rickmann (nee Blaise), and one sister, Lois Mays.Surviving are his six children; Marcia (Felix) Kucenas of O’Fallon, IL, Constance (Dr. William) Chen of Hillsboro, OR, Richard (Teresa) Rickmann III of Belleville, IL, Scott Michael Rickmann of O’Fallon, IL, Kevin (Connie) Rickmann of O’Fallon, IL, and Eric (Beth Ann) Rickmann of Fairview Heights, IL, and 7 grandchildren; Stacy Young, Adam Kucenas, Amy Lippert, Julie Naylor, Jessica Hartman, Alex Chen, and Stephen Chen. Richard is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
