Richard M Ludington 74, of Port St Lucie, FL, formerly of West Haven, CT passed away October 24, 2021, surrounded by his family.

He was a loving, caring husband, father, and the best grandfather a child could ask for. He always had a new joke, and nobody knew where he would get them from. He had a heart of gold and would drop what he was doing to lend a hand to his family and friends.

Richard was born in New Haven, CT to the late Reginald and Dorothy Ludington. Richard enjoyed many jobs throughout his life, in his younger years he worked at Savin Rock, he then went on to set up and tear down amusement park rides for Chancey Brothers Amusements; He would then go on to travel the country working for Reinzo Trucking, East Coast Machinery Movers and Pedowitz Machinery Movers until his retirement.

He would tell stories about the many wonderful places he had the opportunity to experience across the country. He was a member of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and an associate member of The American Legion.

Some of the things Richard enjoyed in life were watching Nascar, Antiques Stein collection, and listening to classic country music. Richard was a proud season ticket holder to the Pocono Raceway; He enjoyed camping at Eagle Lake in Pennsylvania, RV’ing in his mobile home, and riding his Harley Trike; above all though, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Reginald and Dorothy Ludington; siblings, George Ludington, Thomas Ludington, Johnny Ludington, Edward Ludington; brother-in-law, Mark Dering.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Carrol Ludington; children Spencer (Kris) Ludington, Stephen (Kimmy) Ludington; grandchildren, Philip, Cooper, Jacqueline, Jake, Emma (Brandon), Zachary, Leah, and his special four-legged grandpup Abigail who gave him so much joy and love; siblings, Paul (patty) Ludington, Joanne Wade (Phil), Dorothy-Clare (Victor) Tralongo, Patti Ann Dering, Cindy ( Robert) Marinoff, Regina (Jack) Aiello, William Ludington; sister-in-law, Carol Ludington; many loving nieces and nephews and close dear friends including JoAnn Fontana.
