Richard L. Laursen, a Boise businessman and a longtime owner of Thriftway Lumber Company, has died from natural causes. He passed away December 12th at 83 years of age.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Judith Laursen, who passed away in 2004. He is survived by his brother, Ronald J. Laursen; sons, Timothy and Todd Laursen; daughters, Tracey Idoeta and Teal Smith; son-in-law, Javier Idoeta; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Laursen, all of Boise. He has seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Richard was a strong-willed and nurturing man who was deeply devoted to his family. He performed his role as a husband, father, friend, and mentor with dignity and grace. He was insightful, sensitive, and generous to a fault. He displayed a wit and a sense of humor that enriched our lives. Thanks for the memories, Dad. We love you!
